Story: The Summoning
Written By: J. Michael Straczynski
Season: 4
Zack thinks he knows where Garibaldi is, and goes to the ship he is being held on to rescue him. The rescue actually feels far too easy to not be some kind of trap, especially since it kind of looked like Garibaldi was being conditioned while on some operating table. We’ll see where this leads.
The Londo/G’Kar storyline pretty much continues with not much more development, beyond the nutty Emperor wanting to hear G”kar scream and threatening to beat it out of him or kill him if he doesn’t comply, despite his promise that he would go to Londo. Londo just wants him to scream so their plan can continue.
Susan and Marcus go out in search of more First Ones for help in Delenn’s plan to attack Z’ha’dum. In the process they discover a pocket in hyperspace in which the Vorlons have amassed thousands of ships in a fleet. Including a planet killer. Back on the station, Delenn’s plan is being met with bigger resistance than she thought by members of the Non-Aligned worlds, and they begin to shout in the middle of the Station about how much they dislike her plan and how they aren’t going to do it because everyone who goes there dies, including Sheridan, who then shows up just in time to be like “nuh-uh...I lived bitches”. He gives a rousing speech about kicking the Shadows ass if we all stick together, and they decide to all stick together. He’s even brought Lorien with him to help.
Then after rejoicing that sheridan is alive, it is soon reported that the Vorlons used the planet killer to destroy a planet that had been in league with the Shadows, despite all of those that lived on that planet. Now they got to fight the Vorlons too? Shit.
This was a great episode that built on the previous two, and surpassed the immediate predecessor by being more engaging and having a little more action.
NEXT TIME: Fuck You, Vorlons
