Mars Underground

Story: Racing Mars
Written By: J. Michael Straczynski
Season: 4

Marcus and Franklin make their way to Mars, on the way they meet Captain Jack, who at first seems an annoyance on the ship they are on, but then turns out to be their contact for the Mars Underground.  They get to Mars, and have to deal with a suspicious group, that only become more suspicious when their identicards don’t match up with who they say they are...but it turns out Captain Jack switched them, because he has a Keeper.  He attempts to kill the leader of this resistance group, it fails and Marcus shoots off the Keeper.  Jack runs off, and in hoping to not have the Keeper grow back, he blows himself up.
The friction between Garibaldi and Sheridan grows in this episode.  Garibaldi has clearly been brainwashed by the PsiCorps, because the guy keeps repeating the same feelings about Sheridan and seeing patterns about him even when he is clearly acting differently.  Sheridan confronts him about the interview he gave on ISN, they get into a fight.  When Sheridan comes to apologize, a woman starts praising him and asking to be blessed, Sheridan tries to get her to go away but Garibaldi flips out, he grabs her and shouts at her because he doesn’t believe Sheridan is a God...when Sheridan tells him to stop because he is hurting her, Garibaldi again acts as if Sheridan believes this God stuff.  Garibaldi decides to join up with a group that seem to be against Sheridan but at least partially for the cause Sheridan is fighting for.

Solid character episode, plenty happening for many characters, including stuff I glossed over or skipped entirely.

NEXT TIME: The Drakh
