Story: A Race Through Dark Places
Written By: J. Michael Straczynski
Season: 2
PsiCorps is having a nice little string of episodes. This one was initially supposed to be aired previous to the episode that actually aired a week before, causing one minor character development for Talia to seem a little backwards. But still PsiCorp is creepy and Bester is a pretty great villain played by Chekov...I mean Walter Koenig.
So it turns out there is an underground railroad for telepaths to escape being captured into the creepy government sponsored organization known as PsiCorps. Bester has captured one of the people integral in the secret group and manages to get the info out of him just before he dies, and finds out that the railroad is going through Babylon 5.
The episode is one of the best Talia focused stories I've seen. She is finally realizing just how fucked up her little cult is. And there are finally more people outside the corp making comments on how screwy this group is beyond Ivanova. Garibaldi mentions that the group was created because normal humans found psychics weird, and wanted to shove them away, and now they are this powerful organization which seems to be more in control than ever.
I liked this one a lot, it really did some good things for some characters, particularly Talia who I've not been very fond of in the past.
