So Goes Man

Story: Sic Transit Vir
Written By: J. Michael Straczynski
Season: 3

This episode is a big character development episode for Vir, who while entertaining in all of his appearances, really hasn’t had the chance to grow yet.  We first see him walk into a room filled with Narn.  Then his fiancé from an arranged marriage shows up.  Then we find out that on Minbar he has been transferring Narn to Construction Sites on different planets, using the name Abrahamo Lincolni.  He’s then almost murdered by a Narn.
At first when digging into the records it seems as if all the Narn he tranferred were killed, but Vir admits, they aren’t dead...he faked the records.  He never sent them to construction sites, he was helping them escape to planets where they could be free. Vir is a fucking freedom fighter, and he is awesome.  Of course his work is essentially done at this point, since the big reveal happens in front of Londo.

Meanwhile, Vir discovers that the Narn who tried to kill he and his fiancé was probably going after her, since she comes from a fucking nightmare place where she and her father and family essentially farm where they murder Narns by the thousands, and that this Narn attacker (and his brother) had escaped.  She is a fucking nutjob who has been trained in being a nut.

A fine episode that finally gave Vir some meat to work with. Too long did Stephen Furst have to play second fiddle to Peter Jurasik, making faces and saying a few things that make it clear he doesn’t like Londo’s current path.  Finally we see that he has been doing something about his feelings towards the current Centauri-Narn situation.
