Nothing’s The Same Anymore

Story: Chrysalis
Written By: J. Michael Straczynski
Season: 1

Big changes come to the B5 universe in the Season 1 Finale, which sets up what are clearly to be the major storylines of the next season, such as Londo’s involvement in the Destruction of several Narn ships at an Outpost (which harkens nicely back to the first episode of the season in which the Narn attacked a Centauri post), the start of Delenn’s transformation in a cocoon, and one of the first major plays featuring the Shadows, who would play a large part in the next season, Garibaldi getting shot, and the assassination of the President which creates a big game changer of the intergalactic politics of the show.
I think if the pace of this finale, and the style it was told (several character stories intertwined instead of several lost characters due to the poorly used A/B storytelling device), then I could really get into this show.  This was a well written and executed episode that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I have liked many episodes of this first season, but this was the first I really enjoyed and made me think I could actually become a fan.

So many questions were opened up, and it left me ready to jump right into of the second season, which is hopefully not a false sense of excitement...here’s hoping I don’t get disappointed.
